
Our stories in our own words. KGA’s Cultural Programming (CP) provides creative and expressive mediums for young Khmer girls and women to explore, create and disseminate cultural works. CP utilizes creative writing, digital media, urban arts and hip hop music and dance to develop critical thinking and problem solving skills. In addition KGA established a publishing press called the Banana Tree Press. Every year, the KGA members publishes creative pieces from the Khmer Young Women’s Writing Workshops. Over the last two years, KGA has worked with Visual Communications and Third World Majority to teach young women and girls media justice, video-making skills through our Digital Storytelling Project and has recently formed the Youth Media Collective.
